The Beaumont Hospital Site Visit

Beaumont Hospital in Dublin is one of Ireland’s leading academic teaching hospitals, affiliated with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and offering over 100 core and specialty services.

It is nationally recognized as a centre of excellence, providing highly specialized care in areas such as neurosurgery, renal transplantation, cochlear implantation, and cancer treatment. Since opening in 1987, Beaumont has grown into a state-of-the-art facility with more than 1,000 beds and a dedicated team of over 4,500 staff. With its strong commitment to patient-centred care, cutting-edge research, and medical education, Beaumont is widely regarded as a hospital of outstanding quality and innovation.

Delegates are responsible for their own travel to and from the hospital site visit.

Meeting Point

On arrival attendees would enter through the main entrance and we will have sign posting for attendee’s directing them to the lecture theatre. (The welcome will be held in the Robert Adams lecture theatre which is directly to the left of the main entrance.)

  • Welcome / Introduction
  • Robotics:Beaumont Hospital leads in surgical robotics in Ireland, with five robots, including the Da Vinci SP — one of the world’s most advanced single-port surgical robots.Resource permitting and based on service needs, delegates will have the opportunity to use the VR simulator for da Vinci surgical training.
  • Surgical Innovation:Guided tour of Beaumont Hospital’s operating theatres, including the state-of-the-art hybrid operating theatre, one of the most advanced in Europe, featuring:
    • Masimo critical care anaesthetic data aggregation system (first in Europe)
    • AI-driven theatre management system
    • Integrated multifunctional theatre design & automated anaesthetics information system
    • Intravascular ultrasound & intraoperative teleconferencing
    • Advanced robotic imaging & intraoperative CT registration for surgical navigation
    • Smart AV systems, green LED lighting, brain function monitoring, and sustainable fluid removal systemResource permitting, delegates may also trial Brainlab Mixed VR 3D headsets, used by neurosurgeons for surgical case planning.

  • About Beaumont Hospital: Established in 1987, Beaumont is one of Ireland’s largest Model 4 hospitals, employing 4,935+ staff, with 851 beds (30 critical care), delivering care across 54 medical specialties, and handling 220,000+ outpatient appointments annually.Beaumont provides several national specialty services, including Neurosurgery, Cochlear Implantation, Cancer Services, the National Kidney Centre, and Kidney Transplantation.

Taxi and Pay For / Ride Share Services

The front of hospital / main entrance includes a hospital pick-up / drop-off space for attendees arriving via ride services.

Self-Parking

For attendee’s choosing to drive to the event a pay-for-service multi-storey car park is available on campus.

Bus Lines

Beaumont has direct service to the hospital main entrance by Bus Lines N6, 27B, and the 104. Bus lines such as the 14 and 16 lines will bring attendee’s near campus but will need to transfer to another bus line or walk the remaining way. Connecting bus lines can be found using “maps” applications on their cell phone devices, or using the Transport for Ireland- Public Transportation System
