Welcome remarks from the host country with emphasis on how the Netherlands is focusing on going a “step further” in transforming healthcare according to value-based healthcare (VBHC) principles). While as a nation VBHC is embedded in policy and culture, implementation at the clinical level remains challenging. What topline messages can the Dutch colleagues share with ICHOM attendees and what should they be listening for in the next two days?
In this thought-provoking and inspirational keynote, Susannah Fox will highlight the influential role of patients and patient communities in driving significant improvements in healthcare. She will share real-life examples demonstrating how peer-to-peer healthcare initiatives have not only entered the mainstream, but have also revolutionised care practices, data capture, and usage, leading to innovative solutions and better patient outcomes. Learn how all stakeholders have a role in this patient-led revolution, and how it is driving our collective pursuit of value-based healthcare.
Together with Sneha Dave, Founder of Generation Patient, they will further delve into the impact of the patient voice in driving meaningful change.
With the increasing global recognition of the importance of outcomes measurement, this session will explore its impact on transforming care, payment, and policy. International experts from diverse healthcare stakeholders will share specific examples of how PROMs drive revolutionary changes that significantly improve patient outcomes and experiences. The session will also address the challenges experts face and underscore the importance of stakeholder collaboration to create a successful chain reaction of change, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
During Lunch beginning 13.20, ICHOM offers 2-3 abstract tours, led by faculty and organizers from the planning committee and abstract judges.
The Enhancing Systems of Care for Children with Medical Complexity (CMC), a five-year initiative funded by the US Health Resources and Services Administration Maternal and Child Health Bureau( MCHB), brought together clinicians, families and payers to understand the lived experiences and outcomes that matter for these families. The impact of this collaboration enabled progress in care delivery including (but not limited to) supporting deeply relationship-centered care, developing an app that improves communication about who the child is and how outcomes are progressing, creating integrated care teams that deliver semi-annual integrated visits (instead of many, many piecemeal visits), changing regulations so that new payment models could be used, implementing a new payment model that supports the integrated visits, and building deep appreciation from families, clinicians and payers because they are achieving results that they desire and are proud of. This session will emphasize the cultural and co-designed processes needed to build trust and reenvision care based on outcomes that matter to patients and families

The pursuit of value-based healthcare has spanned multiple decades, during which our health systems have faced numerous crises, including rising costs, workforce shortages, and pandemics. In recent years, health systems have also been adapting to new technologies that could play an important role in the transition towards value-based healthcare.
Following opening remarks from Stefan Larsson, the experts will present the next phase of the Value-based Healthcare work at the World Economic Forum. Sharing with the audience key drivers and barriers of change identified through the initiative and expanding these through an interactive deep dive. Finally, speakers will announce the next co-creative steps of the work, and how this aims to address the most critical levers to transition healthcare systems towards patient-centricity and high-value care.

Opening remarks and highlights of day 2
Digital health is transforming care pathways by enabling remote monitoring, e-health and other technical solutions. What opportunities and challenges are presented by digitization for outcomes measurement? What do good digital health solutions look like and how will we know what are optimal ways to use these new technologies for better health outcomes? What are strategies for clinical and regulatory oversight that will optimize our learning and implementation? Panellists will explore the new horizons made possible by digital health and consider the impact on clinical delivery, regulatory oversight, health technology assessment, and patient outcomes and life quality.
This year we propose a very relevant and topical question for our experts and delegates to discuss - “How can patients and clinicians work together to manage the multitude of programs needed to transform healthcare effectively?”
Join our expert panellists as they share insightful ideas and relevant examples on the theme, reacting to common experiences and effective tactics. The session will prioritize audience engagement, allowing live attendees to pose questions to a select panel of VBHC experts and pioneers. Whether your challenge involves implementation, culture change, leadership strategies, or other critical aspects of success, gaining valuable advice can significantly impact your organization and the care of your patients.
Learning Collaboratives, communities of practice and other learning methodologies are powerful mechanisms for change. This final session will showcase key initiatives - across multi-level networks at local, state and national levels in the U.S., and an ongoing multi-national initiative - that highlights the impact of collaborative action.
