Kristina Dziekan is Head of Market Access, Government Affairs and Tender Excellence at Alcon, Europe. In her 20-year career in the life sciences industry, helping to deliver patient access models based on measurable outcomes has been the central theme. With her team and in partnership with scientific communities, patients and payers, she secured outcomes-based payment and risk share models, pioneered value based procurement approaches and developed solutions that enable outcomes-based decision making and drive economic value.
Kristina grew up in Germany and lived and worked all across Europe, in South Africa and South East Asia before settling in Switzerland with her family. She is a graduate of Oxford and Johns Hopkins Universities and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She started her professional life in economic research and country risk assessments at the EIU, led the first economic evaluation of the impact of AIDS in South Africa, before joining GSK, later Medtronic and then Alcon, developing teams and leading programmes that help deliver care excellence to patients.
