Carolina Varela Rodríguez has a degree in Medicine (MD) and the doctorate in Neuroscience (PhD). She is Specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Master in Public Health (MPH) and Master in Healthcare Management (MHA). She has 14 years of experience in basic research, electrophysiology of the retina and cerebral cortex, ten years of experience in Preventive Medicine, Public Health and Epidemiology, including five years of experience in Quality of care, Implementations science of healthcare innovations, value-based healthcare and lean and agile methodologies. From February 2021 until May 2022 was Acting Quality of Care coordinator of the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre. Currently she is a physician in the Quality of Care Unit focused in innovations and healthcare improvement. European Expert for innovation projects since 2016, consultant for the Spanish association of COPD, adjunct coordinator of the Permanent Assessing Commission for COVID-19 in the Spanish Collegiate Medical Organization since 2020.
